The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pushed up the price of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
